Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers

This Irish Heart Foundation course is aimed at healthcare professionals and students who want CPR and AED training. It is a pre-requisite for most Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) courses. It is also useful as a stand-alone course for anyone working in a healthcare or pre-hospital setting.

This course is similar to the CPR course for the general public, with some differences, such as the provision of bag-mask ventilations.

This course is particularly suitable for:

  • Hospital and care facility staff
  • medical and healthcare students
  • pre-hospital care providers
  • medical and healthcare staff working in the community
  • members of voluntary first-aid organisations.

Upon successful completion of this course an Irish Heart Foundation/American Heart Association “Healthcare Provider” BLS certificate will be issued.
