Paediatric First Aid (Child and Baby First Aid)

Family by Tanya LittleThis 1 day course covers common first aid emergencies in babies and children. Participants will also learn how to perform CPR on babies and children of all ages. Teaching is provided by a doctor with significant experience in paediatric and newborn medicine.

This course can be tailored to the needs of specific groups. For example, creche workers or groups of new parents may want to focus solely on baby first aid, while secondary school workers may want to learn how to provide first aid to older children.

The next doctor-run child and baby first aid class will be run on saturday February 2nd. 9:30am-4pm. Cost 100 euro per person. Discounts apply to people from the same family and to groups of 3 or more. Go to our “contact us” page to book your place now! This course will cover infant and child CPR and defibrilator use. Choking will also be covered, as well as the unconscious child/baby, the recovery position, meningitis, seizures, asthma and bleeding. Our experienced doctor will also leave time at the end for your specific child and baby first aid questions.

Note: This course can be run on-demand, at a time and location that suits you. It is particularly suited to schools and creches. Alternatively groups of friends or new parents can book the course. We can provide the training at our location in Blanchardstown or at your own premises. There are no travel expenses for classes delivered in Dublin or the surrounds. For classes further afield, travel costs are kept to a minimum (typically about 50 euro for courses in Cork or the West of Ireland).

Course fee: 400 euro for the one day course. 600 euro for the two day course. Maximum number of participants is 15. Fee is exclusive of any travel expenses outside Dublin and the surrounds and includes a Doctor-run class and a First Aid Ireland certificate of attendance for each participant. A discount on these fees apply to registered charities or community groups.

Very practical

Excellent, very practical course. Good to start with adult CPR too. Maybe longer session on meningitis would have been useful. Refresher course will be useful too I think.
